New Technology that could Revolutionize Sports Medicine

New York Times did a piece on a small, intricate device that monitors health risks on a person through the sweat they create on their skin.

This wireless machine is a sticker that attaches to the skin and can call tell you if you are dehydrated, lacking electrolytes, or revealing signs of diabetes. The goal of this product is not to track steps like other devices on the market (Apple watch, Fitbit, ect...) but to "assess a person's underlying biology".

To grasp what this device is aimed to resemble, New York Times disclosed a prototype...

This innovative development will be beneficial to the safety of many professional and collegiate athletes. From experience, it is very easy to become dehydrated while playing sports or preforming intense workouts. Dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches, dizziness, and in some cases, passing out and heart strokes. I am very excited for this design to reach the market as this could revolutionize the way sports medicine treats athletes and their road to recovery.

With a low cost aim, the unnamed device is set to come to consumers in the next two or three years. I would 100% recommend my soccer team along with all of the teams at High Point University to look into investing in this product for the safety of our student athletes.
